The Gillam Law Firm Obtains $800,000 Settlement for City Firefighter
The Gillam Law Firm joined forces with attorney Genie Harrison to settle a contentious case against the City of Los Angeles for $800,000. Their client was an African American lesbian firefighter who claimed discrimination and retaliation at a fire station in the San Fernando Valley. The settlement was approved by the Los Angeles City Council in August 2012.

Carol Gillam Presents at Several Conferences
Recently, Carol Gillam has presented several programs for lawyers.
In December she put on a webinar for California attorneys on LGBT Issues in the Workplace. In November she conducted a program for the State Bar of California on how to prosecute a Fair Employment and Housing Act case. That same month she appeared on a roundtable with six defense attorneys to discuss recent rulings on class actions, employee privacy rights and National Labor Relations Board activities. The results of that roundtable were published in the November 2012 issue of California Lawyer magazine. She also appeared at the annual conference of the National Employment Lawyers Association to preside over a panel discussion of workplace harassment called, "It's Not Just About Sex -- How to Present and Prove Powerful Harsasment Cases Based on Other Characteristics."
Court Gives Final Approval of Class Action Settlement Against USC
Settlement to Fund Week of December 10, 2012
On October 31, 2012 the court gave final approval to settlement of a class action lawsuit brought against the University of Southern California, challenging pay practices at two of its on-campus restaurants. Servers who worked at McKay's and The Lab GastroPub can expect to receive their payouts before December 25.

Carol Gillam was selected again as a 2012 Top Labor and Employment Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal, California's legal newspaper. She was honored at a reception held July 16, 2012 at the City Club in Los Angeles.
The Gillam Law Firm Receives Court Approval of Class Action Settlement Against Rahn Industries
