The Gillam Law Firm joined forces with attorney Genie Harrison to settle a contentious case against the City of Los Angeles for $800,000. Their client was an African American lesbian firefighter who claimed discrimination and retaliation at a fire station in the San Fernando Valley. The settlement was approved by the Los Angeles City Council in August 2012.

Carol Gillam was selected again as a 2012 Top Labor and Employment Lawyer in California by the Daily Journal, California's legal newspaper. She was honored at a reception held July 16, 2012 at the City Club in Los Angeles.
On July 19, 2012, the Court granted preliminary approval to a class action lawsuit brought on behalf of all current and former employees who were employed by Rahn Industries, Inc. as non-exempt factory workers in the State of California at any time from November 29, 2006 to July 19, 2012. If you do not wish to participate, your deadline to submit an Exclusion Form is September 10, 2012.
